Protecting your privacy, online and when you first meet
What you can keep to yourself, what you can set in your profile and how to prepare for a first meeting.

General prevention information.
On a service devoted to plans for a child, people quickly share very personal things. You remain free to decide what to say, to whom and when.
In your profile
- Use a first name or a pseudonym; your surname is not needed.
- Give a region rather than an address: your exact location is never displayed.
- Sensitive questions, such as gender identity or orientation, are optional. You choose who can see each piece of information.
- Avoid photos that show your home, your workplace, a number plate or other people.
In your conversations
- Do not give out your address, your employer or your social media accounts too early.
- Never send an identity document, a medical document or bank details.
- AI translation is optional: switch it on only if you need it.
- If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, you can leave it, block the person and report them.
Before a first meeting
- Exchange messages first, then speak on a call.
- Choose a busy public place, in the daytime if possible.
- Tell someone you trust: who with, where, at what time.
- Stay in control of how you travel, both there and back.
- Listen to your intuition: you can cut the meeting short or cancel without explaining yourself.
Your rights over your data
You can export your data, withdraw a consent or delete your account from your settings at any time. The French data protection authority, the CNIL, publishes advice on protecting your privacy on dating sites and apps: the link is at the bottom of this page.
